How to make The Best Mexican Black Beans | Instant Pot Recipe | Survival Food Prep

Today, Annie will show you how to make our favorite instant pot black bean recipe! We love to serve this with cilantro rice and caramelized sweet corn, straight out of our prepping pantry. This is a great meal to have in your back pocket as a survival food, but it’s delicious as well!

Homemade Black Beans Recipe:

– 1 pound dry black beans
– 3 heaping teaspoons Better Than Bouillon Vegetable Base (or any other broth)
– 6 cups water
– 1 large onion
– 2 bay leaves
– 2 tablespoons minced garlic
– 1-2 teaspoons salt

Mix water and bouillon together. Then put all ingredients into the Instant Pot. Close the lid. Make sure the regulator is on sealed (not vent). Hit the chili/beans button and let it cook. Once the timer goes off let the pressure release on its own (20 more minutes or so). Do not release pressure manually. Enjoy!
