Breakfast and Brunch

Brunch Recipes for Beginners

The prospect of making Sunday brunch at home is intimidating to a lot of people; that’s why 90% of us line up outside those popular brunch restaurants, waiting impatiently for our Bloody Marys and buttermilk pancakes. But some time ago, I made up my mind to start making Sunday brunch at home (a) because it was so frustrating having to wait for brunch at a restaurant and (b) it’s a lot cheaper to do it yourself!

So today I present to you three brunch recipes that are all meant to be made at the same time: scrambled eggs with caramelized onions and Gruyère, Smitten Kitchen’s Perfect Blueberry Muffins, and super-crispy, oven-roasted bacon (a hack that will change your bacon-making approach forever). Whether you make these three recipes exactly as I make them or you use the principles to approach your next brunch at home (get the onions going, etc etc), this video should save you a fortune in time and money.

With tips and ideas picked up from: @smitten kitchen and @J. Kenji López-Alt.
