Dal Makhni🌱🫘🍛
Ingredients – Cooking lentils :
1/2 Cup Black Lentils
2tbsp White Rajma
2 Cups Water
Whole Spices :
1 Bay Leaf
1 Black Cardamom
1 Cinnamon Stick
3 Cloves
1/2tsp Salt
2-3 Smashed Garlic
1tsp K. Red Chilli Powder
Ingredients – Preparing Dal Makhni
2tbsp Ghee
1/2tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
2 Tomatoes Puree
1tsp Salt or as per taste
1tsp Red Chilli Powder
1tbsp Fresh Cream
1tbsp Butter
1/2tsp Garam Masala
1/2tsp Kasuri Methi (crushed)
Ingredients – Tadka
1tbsp Ghee
1/2tsp Kasuri Methi
1/2tsp Red Chilli Powder
Garnish :
Fresh Cream

Method
1. Wash and soak black lentils and rajma over night.
2. Strain & Transfer it to a pressure cooker. Add 2 cups water, whole spices, salt, smashed garlic and red chilli powder. Mix well.
3. Pressure cook on high heat till 1 whistle blows. Lower the flame and let it simmer for 25 mins.
4. Discard the whole spices and mash the dal a little in the cooker with help of a masher.
5. Heat ghee in pan. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds.
6. Add tomato puree, salt and red chilli powder. Cook till oil separates.
7. Add the dal and mix well. Cover and cook for 10 mins.
8. Add 1/2 cup water if too dry.
9. Add fresh cream, butter, garam masala and crushed kasuri methi. Mix well. Cook for 2 mins.
8. For tadka, heat ghee and add kasuri methi and red chilli powder.
9. Add tadka to dal.
10. Garnish with fresh cream and chopped chillies.
11. Enjoy with roti, rice or naan.
