Slow Cooker Chicken and Mushrooms

In this video, I make creamy chicken and mushrooms in the slow cooker. It has a delicious creamy sauce and is very easy to prepare.

You should be able to feed four to six people without having to change this recipe. I highly recommend that you cook some extra side dishes to go with this dish. For example, I love to serve it over some mashed potatoes or noodles.

The list of ingredients that you will need for this creamy chicken and mushroom dish is right below.

1kg (2.2 lb) chicken breasts
1 onion, diced
2 tsp garlic, minced
250g (8.5 oz) mushrooms, sliced
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp oregano, chopped
250ml (8.4 fl oz) chicken stock
125ml (4.2 fl oz) heavy cream

Thickener

3 Tbsp cornstarch
3 Tbsp water

There are some small adjustments that you can make to this recipe if you want to experiment a little.

Cream cheese is an excellent addition as it makes the sauce creamier and adds a little bit more flavor. It is also a great way to thicken the sauce without having to adjust the recipe.

Even though I use chicken breasts in the video, you can use any cut of chicken. For example, chicken thighs will work very nicely as a replacement.
