Spicy Chili Recipe | Semi- Homemade Turkey Chili | How to Make Super Flavorful Chili

Today is the first official day of Countdown to Christmas! What better way to kick things off than with a super flavorful chili recipe?! Nothing beats a spicy bowl of chili on a super cold day! Whether you pair it with cornbread, Fritos, or a baked potato it is sure to be super satisfying!

INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs of ground turkey (or ground beef)
28 oz can of diced tomatoes
2 cups of chicken broth (or beef broth if using ground beef)
16 oz can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 tbs of Salsa , your favorite brand (optional)
1-2 packets of McCormick Chili seasoning
1 large yellow onion, diced
3 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tbs of chili powder
1 tbs of onion powder
1 tbs of garlic powder
2 tsp of cumin
1 tsp of pepper
1 tsp of salt (optional)
red pepper flakes, add according to your desired spice level (optional)

RECIPE NOTES:
– Sauté onions and garlic on medium heat until soft and translucent. Add in turkey, chili powder, onion and garlic powder, cumin, and black pepper. Cook until brown
– Add in beans, tomatoes, broth, 1 packet of chili seasoning, salsa and red pepper flakes. Stir until combined and simmer on medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes.
– Adding in the salsa just gives the chili a little extra something. It is most definitely optional but if you can, give it a try!
– Taste for salt and other seasonings and adjust according to your liking. Simmer for another 30 minutes then serve!
– This is definitely a great recipe for the crockpot! Just brown the ground turkey, onions, and garlic in a skillet then transfer over to your crockpot. Add all other ingredients and seasonings and set your crockpot to low for 6 hours or high for 4.
