This homemade falafel recipe is easy to make and taste incredible. Perfect to fill in pita bread or even in chapati or in a tortilla as a quick wrap. Crispy on the outside with soft moist cooked chickpeas filling on the inside. I like to eat it as an evening snack with the hummus. My first ever try of middle east recipe is falafel and it turned out great .At first i thought it was a complicated recipe. And now it is one of my easiest and tastiest recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

for falafel:
white chick peas 1cup
onion 1 chopped
garlic 2 to 3
coriander leaves few
extra virgin olive oil 1/4 cup
lemon half
chilli powder 1 tsp
coriander powder 1 tsp
cumin powder 1/2 tsp
pepper powder 1/2 tsp
salt as required
bread crumbs 1/2 cup
or maida
oil for frying

for hummus:
cooked chickpeas 1/2 cup
curd 3 tbsp
garlic paste 1 tsp
extra virgin olive oil 1 tbsp

METHOD:
1. Clean and soak chickpeas overnight or 8 hours. Take 1/2 cup of chickpeas and pressure cook it.This is for making hummus
2.Take the remaining raw soaked chickpeas in a blender. Along with this add the extra virgin olive oil, onions ,garlic and coriander leaves and make it into a fine paste.
3. Transfer this paste into a bowl and add coriander powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, salt and bread crumbs. we can replace bread crumbs with all purpose flour. Mix all together and make small ball sized dough.
4. Pour oil in a pan. When the oil is heated add the balls on by one in the oil . Fry it in a medium flame until the ball turns golden brown. Now our falafel is ready. Next we are going to make sauce for falafel.
5.Add the cooked chickpeas, garlic paste ,curd and salt . Make it into a fine paste. Now our hummus is ready , serve it with some extra virgin olive oil.
