Ingredients

Barnyard Millet or Kuthiraivali Millet :1 cup
Moong Dal : 1/4 cup
Grated coconut : 1/4 cup
Rice : !4 tbsp
Water : 2 cup up
Salt to taste

Seasoning
Coconut Oil 2 tbsp
Chana Dal 1/2 tsp
Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
Green Chillies finely chopped 2
Curry leaves few
A pinch of hing or asafoetida
Salt to taste

Wash and Soak barnyard millet for atleast
15 minutes .After 15 mins, drain the water and keep aside.

Heat a thick bottom pot or pan, add coconut oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, green chillies, hing, curry leaves
Once mustard seed crackles, add water and salt to taste.

Take a big pot add 2 cups water , Once the water starts boiling, keep the flame low and slowly add the soaked and drained barnyard millet. Keep mixing while you add the millets.
Now add the grated coconut and keep mixing it. The millets would thicken up after a few minutes.

Once it forms a thick dough , switch off the flame and let it cool slightly.
Now ready to steam take a steamer for steaming the kozhukattais.
Shape the kozhukattai and place them in the hot steamer. Steam them for 10 minutes until soft. Serve immediately with chutney or side dish of your choice.

Note: Shape the Kozhukattai while the mixture is warm – Easy to shape or you can apply little oil in your fingers and take the mixture starting shape the Kozukattai.
