LIFE HACK: Cooking Frozen Ground Beef in the Instant Pot | 2 flavors, 20 minutes

This is going to save. your. butt at 5 pm when you have nothing thawed out for dinner and little people asking you ‘what’s for dinner?’

Cooking ground beef (or turkey) from frozen in the Instant Pot can have dinner on your table in 20 minutes flat!

I’m sharing two ways to make it:

1) Asian Lettuce Wraps- grab the recipe at:

https://sweetpeasandsaffron.com/instant-pot-ground-turkey-lettuce-wraps/

2) Taco Meat:

1- Remove frozen ground meat from packaging (running under warm water can help loosen it).

2- Place 1 cup of water into a 6 quart Instant Pot (1 1/2 cups for 8 quart). Place trivet over water and frozen meat on the trivet.

3- Set the valve to ‘sealing’, and pressure cook on high for 5 minutes.

4- When the Instant Pot beeps, do a quick pressure release and carefully remove the trivet + meat from the Instant Pot. *It will only be partly cooked through at this point*

5- Carefully dump the liquid from the Instant Pot, and add the ground meat back to the Instant Pot with 1 package taco seasoning or 1 batch of homemade taco seasoning (recipe linked below), plus 2/3 cup of water.

6- Select sautee, and cook the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula until fully cooked through and sauce has thickened.
