The Ultimate Pakistani comfort food item, rich & delicious Aloo Gosht in the Instant Pot. Aloo Gosht literally means meat and potato in English where the meat is cooked in a rich curry base. *****STOVETOP METHOD******
Follow the exact same recipe and instead of pressure cooking.
– Instead of 2.5 cups of water, add 4-5 cups of water. Mutton cook for approx 45 minutes or until tender, Beef cook for 60-65 minutes or until tender. Add more water if necessary.

Food Notes:
– Very important to use good quality meat. Be sure to clean the meat first. Trim off excess fat and rinse. To get rid of any smells, rub salt and soak the meat in vinegar for 30 minutes. Rinse off the vinegar and salt before cooking.

– 8 quart Instant Pot was used in this recipe.

– You may add more than 2.5 cups of water for more gravy/curry.

– Kashmiri Red Chili Powder is optional and mainly used to add color to your gravy (not heat). You may use paprika instead.

– Onion is browned to give a nice color to the gravy. Be sure not to burn it as it may add a bitter taste to your gravy.

– Be sure to cook the spice really well. Cooking spice beforehand will give a nice flavor.
