What I used (Serves 4-5) Made in a 3.5 Litre Crockpot

Granny Smith apples (about 15 apples, peeled, cored and sliced)
400g /14 oz can caramel – I used Carnation
200g/7 oz Plain or all purpose flour
120g/4.2 oz Cold butter
100g/3.5 oz Porridge oats
50g/1.7 oz Demerara sugar (any brown sugar will do)
1.5 Teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon nutmeg

Method
1. Peel, core and slice the apples into thick slices and place in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add 4 tablespoons of the caramel and a shake of cinnamon and stir well.
2. In a separate bowl, rub the cold butter and flour with your fingers until you have a breadcrumb mixture (alternatively, you can just blitz it in a food processor). Add the sugar, oats and cinnamon to the mixture and mix.
3. Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the apples and dot the top with the rest of the caramel.
4. Place a clean kitchen towel under the slow cooker lid. This absorbs some of the steam, and helps stop the crumble becoming too soggy.
5. Cook on high for 2.5 hours. After this time, remove the lid and cook for a further 30 minutes.
