How to Make Instant Pot Spaghetti (with or without meat!)

Instant Pot Spaghetti is the EASIEST meal when you need to get dinner on the table in 30 minutes. *Update: Readers have reported a 3-minute cooking cycle working well for this, so try that to avoid mushy pasta.* The pasta, water, and sauce cook in the pot, all at the same time! Most recipes online show you how to make it with a meat sauce, but I’m showing you a second vegetarian version (with lentils for plant based protein) if you want to try it that way, too.

FYI— make sure you NEVER “quick release” pasta. Skip to the 2:55 mark in this video to see what happens if you do. (Spoiler: it makes a MESS on your kitchen counters!) The Instant Pot is supposed to make your life easier, so make sure you follow this tried-and-true cooking method for a mess-free, fast dinner!

This one-pot meal works best with regular or whole wheat noodles, but I include tips for using gluten-free spaghetti, too! Just keep in mind that the cooking time and method are different, so read the directions closely before you make substitutions.
