Introduction
Masala dosa or masale dose is a variant of the popular South Indian food dosa, which has its origins in Tulu Mangalorean cuisine made popular by the Udupi hotels all over India.
Masala Dosa Ingredients –
To Make Batter
1 cup Split Black Gram (Soaked)
1 cup Rice With 1/2 tsp Fenugreek Seeds (Soaked)
Water
Salt
To Make Potato Filling:-
1 tbsp Oil
1/8 tsp Asafoetida
1 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
8 – 10 Green Chillies
15 -20 Curry Leaves
1 1/2 Onions ( Sliced )
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt
3 Potatoes (Boiled, Peeled & chopped)
Juice Of 1/2 Lemon

Masala dosa is a variation of the popular South Indian dosa, which has its origins in Tuluva Mangalorean cuisine of Karnataka. It is made from rice, lentils, potato, fenugreek, ghee and curry leaves, and served with chutneys and sambar. It is popular in South India, it can be found in all other parts of the country and overseas. In South India, the preparation of masala dosa varies from city to city. There are variations in Masala dosa like Mysore masala dosa, Rava masala dosa, Onion masala dosa, Paper masala dosa, Cheese masala dosa etc.
